A K-12 school system right in the middle of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, GCISD is able to boast numerous awards and achievements throughout the years. For example, a total of 11 schools in the district have been named National Blue Ribbon Schools by the U. S. Department of Education, four of which were listed in the “National Center for Education Achievement’s Higher Performing Schools List” in 2011.
Teaching more than 13,000 students and employing more than 1,500 staff members, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD is comprised of 17 traditional campuses including eleven elementary schools, four middle schools, and two high schools. In addition, GCISD contains two alternative schools (Bridges Accelerated Learning Center and Vista Alternative Learning Center); one early college high school; and iUniversity Prep, a tuition-free Virtual Academy.
The high schools in the district are Colleyville Heritage High School and Grapevine High School, both of which earned slots on U.S. News and Newsweek’s Best High Schools lists. Grapevine H.S. also hosts the Technology Education & Career Center for students who attend either high school.
