Most of Allen is served by Allen Independent School District, which also serves areas in McKinney, Plano, and Parker. The district received a Student Achievement score of 93 on the 2014 Accountability Summary by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), with 64 students awarded a total of $56,000 in scholarships.
Allen ISD consists of 17 elementary schools, three middle schools, two alternative education facilities (Lowery Freshman Center and Dillard Special Achievement Center), and Allen High School. The high school is a TEA Recognized facility teaching more than 6,000 students a year and is home to the 18,000-seat Eagle Stadium.
The middle schools in the district include, Walter & Lois Curtis Middle School on Rivercrest; Thomas Ereckson Middle School on Tatum; and Pete Ford Middle School on Park Place, teaching just under a thousand students in grades 7-9. According to Texas standards, 95% of Ford’s students are testing proficient in math and reading.
